Here are the three biggest things I always recommend checking before booking a family all-inclusive resort.

1. Is It Really Family-Friendly?

Believe it or not, not every all-inclusive is built with families in mind.

Some resorts have incredible water parks, lazy rivers, kids’ clubs, teen lounges, arcades, nightly entertainment, and activities that keep everyone happy. Others are much quieter and geared more toward couples.

2. What’s Actually Included?

“All-inclusive” sounds simple… until you discover the steakhouse costs extra, snorkeling isn’t included, and the best drinks have an additional charge.

• Hidden fees

The fewer surprises on vacation, the better. (Unless it’s someone bringing you dessert.)

3. What Are Real Travelers Saying?

Professional photos are wonderful—but they’re also taken on the resort’s absolute best day with perfect lighting.

I like digging into recent guest reviews to answer questions like:

• Is the beach swimmable?
• Is the food consistently good?
• How’s the service?
• Are the rooms well maintained?
• Would families actually recommend it?

A little research beforehand can save a lot of disappointment later.
